Annette Peagler is an Evening Anchor for WBTW News 13 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. She anchors the 5:30 pm and 11pm newscasts. She also anchors WFXB’s Fox News at 10pm and produces the newscast two nights a week.
Annette takes great pride in her storytelling and is a true leader. She is a well balanced journalist with 14 years of experience. She has worked as a producer, reporter and anchor in markets ranging from Cincinnati, Ohio to Jackson, MS. Her most recent role prior to Myrtle Beach was a weekend anchor for Local 24 News in Memphis, TN.
Annette loves storytelling and has scored major interviews throughout her career. She interviewed the late Congressman John Lewis in 2011 as a reporter in Jackson, MS and former UN Ambassador Andrew Young during the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. She also interviewed Civil Rights Icon Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr and Alice Marie Johnson who was granted clemency by President Trump in 2018.
When she is not at the anchor desk or reporting, Annette loves to volunteers in her community. She is a member the National Association of Black Journalists and the Conway Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. Annette also serves as a host and emcee. Freewoods Farm
News 13’s Annette Peagler talked to O’Neal Smalls, President of the Freewoods Foundation, about the community that tells the story of what African Americans did during the first century of freedom from 1865 to 1960. Present-day, Freewoods Farm is still an active farm in the Burgess community, that serves as an educational museum and historic landmark in South Carolina.
